If the nearest parking area is far away from you, please don’t take the scooter all the way there. Leave the Whooshbike in a place where it won’t obstruct pedestrians and traffic. After that, you should contact support about what happened and send a photo of the scooter to the chat. We’ll help you finish your rent, and recalculate the price if necessary.

It gives an unlimited number of trips within the total limit. Caution: when the duration of the trip reaches 81 minutes, we start counting every minute at the regular rate. If you need to continue riding within the Rate for the Day, we recommend you to finish your rent in the 80th minute and start the trip again on the same scooter or on another Whooshbike.

If you rent several scooters at the same time, the Rate for the Day will apply only to the first trip in the group. The same rule works if you book the second scooter during your trip on the first Whooshbike — then we will write off the money for a per-minute rental.

First, you need to install the Whoosh app, enter your e-mail and phone number, or log in via Apple/Google ID. Then add a card — we’ll write off and return 11₽ for verification.

If a scooter is nearby, you need to scan the QR code on the steering wheel by pressing the big yellow button in the center of the main screen. If it does not work, enter the name of the scooter (4 letters or numbers), it is written under the QR code on the steering wheel or on the map. After that, the app will tell you what to do.

If there is no scooter nearby, you can select the Whooshbike you want to rent on the map and then get to it. If you don’t want someone else to rent the scooter at this time, you can book it.

Put one foot on the deck, grab the steering wheel and push the scooter away from you. The kickstand will be folded up — then you can go.

It is also easy to put the scooter on the kickstand: press it to the ground with one foot and pull the steering wheel towards you.

You can book a scooter for 10 minutes, it’s free. If you don’t start your trip within 10 minutes, the scooter will be available again for other Whooshers.

If you want to book a scooter, select it on the app’s map, press the «Select» button, then press the «Book» button. After that, we will block the deposit of 300₽ or 500₽ to ensure payment for the trip. If you cancel the booking or its time runs out, the deposit will be automatically unblocked.

To start a trip, you need to be next to the scooter after you've booked it.

You need to select your first Whooshbike, start a trip on it. Then a «+» symbol will appear in the app — you can use it to add the second and the third scooter. It’s not possible to rent more than three Whooshbikes at the same time.

Each scooter will require a deposit, and you will need to finish the trips for each one separately. The account owner must be next to the scooter when it’s being parked.

The scooter is supposed to be in the parking area closest to it. The Whooshbike’s location may sometimes deviate slightly, but you should always pay attention to a «P» sign.

The «Beep-beep» button on the scooter screen can help find a Whoosh bike. After you click on it, the scooter will blink its headlight and beep for a while.

In the riding area, we show it on the app’s map. According to Russian traffic rules, the following priorities are set for travelling by personal mobility devices:

1. A bike path and any other type of bicycle infrastructure.
2. If there is no bicycle infrastructure — move along the sidewalk.
3. If there is no pedestrian zone, you can ride along the roadside.
4. If there is no roadside — you can ride on the right side of the road.

Keep in mind that you can ride along the roadside and on the right side of the road only if the speed of the traffic flow doesn’t exceed 60 km/h.

Leave the Whooshbike somewhere out of the way, and then press the «Stop» button on the screen.  Select «Lock the scooter». The Whooshbike will lock the wheel so that no one will be able to use the scooter while you are away.

Please note that even when the scooter is locked, the time of your rental continues to pass. The rate in this mode remains the same.

It is individual for each scooter, so we show the remaining time in minutes and kilometers in the app. This information is approximate and depends on external factors: for instance, who is riding the scooter, how and where it’s happening, and what the weather is.

As soon as the scooter starts to run out of charge, the app will send a push notification. It means that you should begin moving towards the parking area.

Our Whooshbikes can accelerate to 25 km/h, battery charge lasts for 30+ km. The scooters have stable pneumatic wheels and two types of brakes: electric and mechanical.

We purchase these scooters from the manufacturer and customize them, transforming our Whooshbikes into Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It means that they are always connected to the cloud platform, and sensors, GPS and GSM modems instantly report the status and location of each scooter.

Each scooter has three modes: Sport, Drive, and Eco. When a Whooshbike is in Sport mode, it can accelerate up to 25 km/h, while in Drive — up to 18 km/h, and Eco will allow you to go no faster than 12 km/h.

You can switch modes in the app — just select one of the three options on the screen.

There are levers on the left and right handlebars of the scooter. The left one turns on mechanical braking of the front wheel and an electric brake. The right lever turns on mechanical braking of the back wheel and an electric brake.

If you need to brake, press one of the levers. If you want to activate emergency braking, you can press both at once.

The bell is on the left side of the handlebar. It rings when you turn it.

The scooter's headlight turns on automatically if your trip starts in the evening or at night. It doesn't work in the daytime. You can turn the headlight on or off using the button with the flashlight icon on the trip screen.

Insurance costs 35₽, it’s issued separately for each trip. We will write off the cost of insurance at the end of the rental along with payment according to the rate.

It will cover up to 500,000₽ of damage to the health of the person who rented the scooter, up to 100,000₽ of damage to property (smartphone, laptop, etc.), up to 300,000₽ of damage to the health or property of the third parties affected by the actions of the insured one. You can do it in the app. After you select the scooter, there will be a slider in the form of a shield on the screen. To switch this slider, you need to click on it. If the slider is yellow, insurance will be applied to the trip. If it’s gray, insurance is disabled.

You need to record everything that happened on photo and video, collect all the necessary certificates and transmit all information about the situation to the insurance company. You can send it to loss@alfastrah.ru, or you can fill out this form: alfastrah.ru/accident/scooter-accident. This memo will also help you.

You’ll need an insurance policy — it can be found it in the «Ride history» section in the left menu of the app. You need to select the trip during which the accident occurred, and download the file with the policy.

Two or more people on a Whooshbike is a load that the scooter is not designed for. It can break down while in motion. It is also unsafe since it’s much more difficult to drive a scooter in this situation. You may be fined for riding together on the same Whooshbike.

Our scooters are too powerful and big for children. They weigh up to 35 kg and accelerate to 25 km/h — the child may not be able to control a Whooshbike. This is why our scooters can only be used by riders over the age of 18.

Since March 1, 2023, electric scooters have gained an official status in the traffic rules. They are now called personal mobility devices, or PMDs.

There were no fundamental changes for Whooshers. The article tells what exactly has changed for sharing and for personal scooters.

According to the traffic rules, PMDs don’t require any license, and our scooters fully belong to this category. For example, the maximum speed up to 25 km/h is just about our Whooshbikes.

Any road user may receive a fine for violation of the rules from the traffic police. PMDs and cyclists can be punished by small fines. To remember and comply with the traffic rules, you can read our review or check out our Safety guide.

If you are stopped by a traffic police officer, check the current traffic rules for PMDs and the amount of fines for each violation. Note that if you get off the scooter and push it but don’t ride it, you are considered a pedestrian.
